Playtime

You were always a very hyperactive baby, right from you were in amma's tummy. Poranda apparam ketkava venum :).

Will try to remember all your favourite playtime.

You were always moving your hands and legs while you were awake. You try to reach the camera in the first few days itself.




As soon as appa comes in he takes you on for playing. You too enjoy that a lot.




Your favourite ones were to sit on appa's shoulder and go around and try to hit the windchime.... So finally one day you had pulled and damanged amma's favourite windchime.

You liked standing on the bed holding the window and jumping on it scaring patti and amma. You really enjoyed it a lot once you were able to stand holding things.

Peek a booo was another favourite one. Almost from 7th or 8th month you started playing that game. You put on amma's dupatta on your face and wait for amma to ask "where is samyu... where is samyu kutty..." and then you take out the dupatta and laugh aloud. Still you like this game. Now that you can walk around, you hide behind the wall and play hide and seek.

You also play all dangerous games. Since you get bored so soon with your toys or any game. It is very hard to make you sit. You keep running around the house all the time and try to open all the cupboards in the kitchen, pull all the wires at home, and try to experiment the electrical socket holes... So thatha has masked all our electrial sockets which are in your reach.

Crawling ...to... Running

Kutty once you were on your tummy, in a few months time you started to crawl. Amma used to guess that God whispers into you ears, during each stage what you are supposed to do.



You can vigorously started your crawling practise during your 7Th month. Then in no time you were an expert and started to move around freely, keeping everyone at home on toes.

Luckily when you tried to crawl for the first time amma was at home to take some snaps....and share that to appa. Appa was so excited to see the pics(but bit upset that he had missed that personally).



During your initial days of crawling you used to tumble down. Twice you got hurt in your lips and you had bleeding too :(.

This really gave you the Independence of moving around wherever you want and experimenting things. Thank God you didn't know to put things into your mouth then. In another 2 to 3 months time you were a proficient crawler :).

You started getting bored of this and wanted to stand up. Slowly you started trying that too, catching hold of the sofa, dining table chair, cot. You also started to put on few steps holding these objects. Wow to our happiness, just before your first birthday you tried to walk a few steps by yourself. Everyone at home were so excited to see that.

We got you a walker, but you never liked that so much, you sit in it and try to only climb out of it and didn't want that to learn walking.... (May be you thought i can walk myself, why do i need this). One day you tried to climb out of the walker by yourself and well out of it, and hurt yourself badly. Amma got so upset then and never wanted to put you into that walker again.



Anyway you have started to walk by yourself holding things and then independently in no time. Even during your initial walking days, you used to tumble down, but that never stopped you from experimenting things. In no time, even before you would walk well, you started to try running and then on all of us have to be alert all the time, expecting you to do some vicious thing.

You have become very naughty once you were able to be independent, running all around the house, climbing the sofa, pushing around the chair, reaching things in the shelves and many more....

Your First Solid Food

Kutty you had your first Solid food Nestle's "Rice Cerelac". We were wondering how you would like it and if you would take it, since when you took water for the first time after 2 months on just the milk, you never liked it, you resisted that so much.



To all our surprise you never fussed and you took that very easily. I think you liked that too. That was the first time you are having something with a spoon.

Amma was so excited to give you the first food :), since amma has never feed any baby in her life until then.

You never fussed on much for any food from then on, like amma, but like your appa you liked sweets so much.

Your chittor patti (Vijaya patti), started sending across the kulzu mavu(porridge powder), which is made of wheat, ragi, and broken channa dhal. That has become your daily breakfast and you used to love that with milk and sugar added to it.



Amma tried to give you a Mango fruit while you were just 9 months old, to my happiness you liked it so much and you started chewing it so well. You were about to finish it of and patti got so tensed that you might get a stomach upset. She wanted me to stop giving you the mang, but you were not ready to let go of the mango from your hand.

You had your first rice with some curd while you were 6 months old. Patti always put that in a mixie and smash the food for you. You always love curd rice. You slowly started taking rice with parupu, ghee, rasam, vegetables such as carrot, beans, beet root. We tried the mutton soup while you were almost 11 months old and you liked that. You were very much allergic to Egg and any food made of egg. Your eyes generally gets puffy when you take eggs....

Now you take idly, chappati, poori, potato. You take your chappati/poori with honey. You started demanding food from amma and appa when we eat. You just keep running around during our dinner and come back for a pieces of food.

On your Tummy

Atleast i have completed the details of all your visitors(that i could remember) in short.

Trying to put on some important events or the milestones that you reached.



Hmm it was just 3 months and you were already on your tummy. Your ayemma was curious to know if you were on your tummy from your second month.... She was so happy to hear this.


From then we had to be very careful, since we were scared that you might get on your tummy and get your face into the pillows or roll and fall down from the cot. To avoid any such dangers we had to monitor you all the time. Pavam patti had a 24X7 shift since you were born, helping take care of you and also taking care of amma. From then on you never liked to sleep in your cradle. You always wanted to sleep in the bed in a spacious place. We had to always had to pillows around you :)

Some more of Old memories....Your visitors

I shouldn't miss your visitors while you were born and their wishes and the nice goodies they got for you.

Our neighbours Tamilselvi aunty and her mom and Balaji and Ganesh came to see you and they got a nice pink dress set for you. Sushma aunty and uncle came to see you and they got a nice soft teddy for you.

Lakshmi patti and Ragavan Thata came to meet you after a couple of weeks. They got a nice pink dress set for you. One of the shirts in that was very lovley and amma used to wear that for you often.

Amma's ML friends gave a Lifestyle gift hamper during the baby shower, so appa got a nice Fisher price Bathtub for you at lifestyle. Gops uncle, Kamal uncle and Elango uncle came to see you in a couple of days. They also sent a boquet for us for the wishing us for the new year and your arrival.

Appa's close friend and sister Anu aunty and Ravi uncle and Sruthi came to meet you. They got a nice gift for you. It was a nice 2-1 play time gift which can be used as walker and a car. You have started to experiment that in your fifth month itself.

Then your patti(ayemma) came from theni and was with you for couple of weeks. She got lot of dresses for you from your perima & peripa and athai.

Samba thatha got nice dresses and a playmat and teether and a nice carry bag(that i still use to carry your things), which Shanthi patti sent for you from US.

In a few weeks your Raja peripa, Thendral Perima and Dhanam athai came to see you and they got dresses for you.

Sathyavani aunty and Kalai aunty came to meet you. They got a nice dress for you.

Appa friends came to see you. Vakil(hmm that is how appa calls him) uncle and Kavitha aunty came to see you. They got a nice dress for you and also she cooked some nice dishes for amma and got them. Ramamurthy uncle came with his family to see you. They got a nice dress for you.

We had our house warming ceremony on March 6, 2009. You were 5 months old and lot of people saw you on that day.

In couple of months Vasanthi Patti, thatha, Aruna Perima and Clara came from London. They got you lot of small cute dolls and dresses and two nice sweaters that Vasanthi patti has woven for you.

Venky mama, Nipali aunty, vinay and Avinash mama came to meet you. They got you lot of good books which has got lot of nice colorful pictures and good teethers.




Aparanjani and Ram came to meet you when they came to India. They got nice dresses for you. Akila athai and kalai uncle came to meet you and she got nice dresses(nice pavadai) that she herself stitched for you.

And finally abhi mama came from Australia after almost 10 months to meet you. He gave a nice bracelet for you.

Your vanitha chitti comes often and she gets something for you all the time. She has got dresses and a nice ear drop for you.

Kalai aunty came after a long time again to see you. She has got a nice ear drop too for you.

Hope i have put almost all the people i would remember after 1 year puppy.

Your Name & your Pet names

Puppy kutty(That is how i like to call you), though you have lot of nicknames by now. I have to really write a lot of things sweeto, before i forget things that happened for the past 18 months and moreover Rishi has told that he is going to keep an eye on your blog for updates, i have to keep it updated. Didnt want to miss most of the old incidents that have happened. Actually Appa decided that it was a girl baby he was going to have and an only selected the name Samyuktha. He actually selected that name during March 2007 itself and sent a sms to amma. To his dream or desire or whatever you were a girl, and we never thought of a second option for your name. Appa and amma thought of calling you Sami, but it didnt work out well. When Vani chitti came home to see you, she was the one to call you Samyu and we liked it. So we started calling you Samyu from then.(May be this is why you are so attached to Vani Chitti and love her so much). When Clara came to India for vacation, she liked calling you Sammy... So Clara akka and Aruna perima call you Sammy....

Whenever we used to ask you "Samyuktha yaru"? You reply promptly that "Nannthan", in a very stern voice, but now you are grown enough to say your name in a sweet voice. You say Shammu....(I know darling your name is too big for you to get it so soon).... The best think i love is, whenever we ask you, "what will amma call you as" you say "PUPPPY". Now you have got a dozen pet names kanna, ammu, chellam, kuttima, ammukutty, samyu kutty, thanga kutty.....

Samyu has grown into a big gal

Sweetheart i am very sorry for not updating your blog for so long. It is more than 1 year since i have updated your blog. Dheepa aunty is being so good to update all the things what Rishi does, but amma was not able to do that for so long. But i have now decided to put in all the things that i remember for the past one year. May be they are not in a good order and good flow, but i wanted to put things before i forget...

Now that amma is in London and sorry to leave you at home and come here darling. Amma is thinking of you all the time and recollect all the cuty naughty things that you do....

You are a very hyper active & smart kid, but a very naughty one too :).

You never liked the cradle after 2.5 months and wanted to use the full queen size bed. Amma was only giving you the bath in the bathtub. Thanks to fisher price bath tub, you really used to enjoy yor bath time from an infant until now... you never used to cry and amma gave you a very nice bath. Now u really love your bath time and when we say kutty its bathtime, u are ready at the doors of the bath room :).

You had your first solid food the rice cerelac by the end of fourth month... You never fussed up for that and u didnt have any problem with that. You liked it so much and it was a big relief to amma and patti.

Amma found a pediatrician, Dr. Indira Chatruvedi, at Velachery, when you were 20 days old, and you are very comfortable with her. So we go to her until now for all your vaccines and your health issues. She likes you so much and keeps pampering you everytime we go. You are mostly co operative for all the check ups and dont cry or fuss a lot. So doctor keeps appreciating you for being so nice during your vaccinations and check ups. And now you are big enough to say that the doctor says that you are "CHO SWEET" to her...

One of the first sound you made was "QUACK" in a little cute voice... in your third month, while amma was showing you a duck and staying quack quack... Appa also her that. I still cant forget that sound you have made. It was the most melodious sound i have ever heard in my life, and it is still so precious to me.... :)

Other incident i would remember so well is that when you were almost six months old you just woke up one morning and almost rolled over close to be and patted me to wake up. It was so cute and i was so happy about it that day.

By the end of 4th month you have started to turn to your side, so we had to put so many pillows pillows around you and you turned over your tummy in the fifth month. You always like to sleep on your side or your tummy. You started crawling from almost the end of seventh month and put on your first steps without any support on your first birthday and then there was nothing to stop you. You have started to run all around the house.

Right from the second month you were trying to find your finger for thumb sucking and then in the third month you were successful of find it out and started then and it is continuing until now.

You are always a comfort seeker(nalla sogusukari). Like to sleep in a spacious cozy place. You want the AC to be on and ensure it is switched on an insist to sleep in the AC room now a days.
